After visiting the City Museum and rejoining the High Street, you'll see the Town Clock. The clock was presented to the city in 1713 following a royal visit. The clock is afixed to the old Guildhall, where the city's curfew bell has been rung since 1361 and is still rung each evening at 8pm. Just a little further along, on the opposite side of the road, you will see Staple Gardens. There's nothing to see there now, but it used to be site of the wool market in the mid-14th century.
